A Simple Weekly Dust and Surface Reset
Focus on the rooms and surfaces you actually use, then clean soft surfaces according to their care instructions.
Materials
- A clean cloth
- Soap or a cleaner appropriate for the surface
- A vacuum suitable for your floors and soft furnishings
- A short room-by-room checklist
Steps
- Choose a few frequently used rooms and note the surfaces that need attention this week.
- Move loose items out of the way so you can reach the surfaces underneath.
- Clean hard surfaces when they are visibly dirty, following the surface and product directions.
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, and other soft surfaces as appropriate, and launder washable items according to their care instructions.
- Put items back and update the checklist for areas that still need attention.
